Walk of Life

Picture
Medium: Oil Pastel / Temperate Paint Created: Nov. 2018 This piece was inspired by the impressionistic style of art and the beautiful color palette nature truly has. From the yellow, orange, and greens of the leaves to the browns in the tree trunks. Each individual color and small stroke coming together to for a harmony like no other.

Lighting Up the Night

Picture
Medium: Watercolor / Pen and Ink Created: Dec. 2018 During Christmas time I hang the lights depicted along the tops of my curtains. As a decoration and a remember that when there is a lot of dark twisted up problems occurring, there is always bright times to look forward to. To help the viewer focus on the light bulbs and the happier times, I used a splatter effect with the color of the light bulbs, behind each light, resembling a shadow. All in all, capturing the true meaning of the Christmas spirit.

Nature's Progression

Picture
Medium: Colored Pencil / Acrylic Paint Created: Nov. 2018 The idea of this piece came from my love of sunsets and the prompt given: showing the progression of something. This piece started off by sectioning off each quadrant of the page, in addition to finding the photos and time stamps of each section of the progression. Then, going in with colored pencils, I began recreating the beautiful photos, trying to keep in mind color harmony. Then, using black colored pencil to draw in the power lines, as a focal point for each quadrant. Finally, going in with white acrylic paint to paint and highlight the time stamps. Making them the focal point of the entire piece. capturing the power of nature.

Power of Water

Picture
Medium: Graphite Created: Mar. 2019 This piece expresses the power of water. The water fountain wouldn't be installed in that school, if it wasn't for the builders who used the concrete, which requires water, to solidify the foundation of the school, shown in the reflection of the water fountain head. There would be no school or water for the students. By drawing the water fountain and the reflection shows the massive impact water has on our daily life.

Lavender Lyrical

Picture
Medium: Acrylic / Thread Created: Apr. 2019 This piece was inspired by my love for lavender flowers and the calmness the sent brings me and the grace of the human body presented by the dancer. Who is clothed in a white dress, representing the innocence of the natural human with the surrounding purple field. All working in collaboration to simply express the earths true natural beauty.

Nature’s Elements

Medium: Clay Created: Dec. 2018 These three pieces are symbolic of the three parts of nature that I connect with and love. Each part of nature is shown by the color choice and the cut outs of the clay. The yellow cylinder is representative of the sun, through a mandala like design. The pink cylinder is representative of the beautiful flowers and the blue cylinder is representative of the oceans of the world. These cylinders are called luminaries because they are meant to have a light inside them. Then, the design cut out will reflect and shine onto the walls around it. Showing how each part of nature lights our world. Making the beautiful world go around.
